Gabriel Barajas
Field Manager, Pacific Landscape Management

This year Gabriel (Gabby) celebrated his 22nd year in the landscape profession as well as his 22nd anniversary with Pacific Landscape Management. Gabby joined Pacific as they were founded and has grown with the company through his career from laborer to foreman to field manager and now as director of training for their 5 Oregon and SW Washington branches.

Gabby is a OLCA/NALP Landscape Industry Certified as well as a Oregon Certified Pesticide Applicator. He has attended countless industry related seminars and classes. He currently organizes the field training for Pacific’s 300 field employees and has helped countless develop from laborer to foreman to field manager as he did.

Gabby is passionate about operational perfection and efficiency as well as employee personal development. As an immigrant who has acclimated into American society and developed his professional skill as well as those around him, Gabby is excited to share his thoughts and wisdom to those who aspire to develop their skill and make the move from the field to supervision and management.

Este año Gabriel (Gabby) celebró su 22 año en la profesión del paisajista, así como su 22 aniversario en Pacific Landscape Management. Gabby se unió a Pacific cuando se fundaron y ha crecido con la empresa a lo largo de su carrera, desde obrero hasta capataz, gerente de campo y ahora como director de capacitación para sus cinco sucursales de Oregón y el suroeste de Washington.

Theodore R Bunch Jr

Technical Specialist, Oregon OSHA

Throughout his career, Ted has spoken at various national, state and local conferences and symposiums, sharing his expertise with more than 30,000 people. While at the Oregon Department of Agriculture, Ted led the Pesticide Analytical and Response Center (PARC), coordinating the state of Oregon’s response to pesticide-related incidents. Recently, he made a career change by joining Oregon OSHA as a Technical Specialist. In his current role, Ted has focused on helping develop protective measures for workers who are exposed to ambient heat and heat generated from processes, as well as emissions from wildfire smoke. 

A lo largo de su carrera, Ted ha hablado en varias conferencias y simposios nacionales, estatales y locales, compartiendo su experiencia con más de 30.000 personas. Mientras estuvo en el Departamento de Agricultura de Oregón, Ted dirigió el Centro de Respuesta y Análisis de Pesticidas (PARC), coordinando la respuesta del estado de Oregón a incidentes relacionados con pesticidas. Steve Causseaux
Landscape Irrigation
Regional Manager, Cimco

A native to the Pacific Northwest United States, Steve has spent the past 13 years working in water management for irrigation, waterworks, and construction projects.  As a current consultant with Cimco, an independent representative firm in the Pacific Northwest and Canada, Steve continues to source conservation innovations for water distribution and irrigation.  For 14 years Steve has helped pond builders with proper pump selection and water feature design to ensure the most efficient and maintenance free systems.  Steve resides in Vancouver, WA and especially loves the rainy winters in the Pacific Northwest where he enjoys navigating giant, natural water features in his kayak.

Originario del noroeste del Pacífico de los Estados Unidos, Steve ha pasado los últimos 13 años trabajando en la gestión del agua para proyectos de irrigación, obras hidráulicas y construcción. Corey Christopherson

Corey Christopherson has over 20 years of irrigation experience in PNW landscape market. He has been involved in all phases of landscape design and installation with a specialty in irrigation. Corey is currently responsible for promoting the intelligent use of water with the Rain Bird Corporation.

Dave Gaffney
Sr. DOT Compliance Specialist, Papé Group

Dave Gaffney is the Senior DOT Compliance Specialist for the Papé Group of companies. Dave has been with the Papé Group since 2015 and is responsible for the oversight of company-wide Department of Transportation legal compliance matters pertaining to the company fleet of more than 3,000 vehicles, mostly trucks.

Dave’s has worked in the motor carrier enforcement field for 20 years, both with the California Highway Patrol and State of Oregon, Motor Carrier Enforcement Division. In his 10 years with the state of Oregon, Dave was the Manager of enforcement operations in the Coast Valley District, managed the Enforcement Officer Academy and conducted transportation safety training to the industry in which he regulated.
Dave particularly appreciates being able to share information pertaining to driver safety and avoiding collisions, specifically in trucks, by helping drivers make appropriate, sound, educated decisions on the road. According to Dave, “understanding potential driving conflicts while using experience, training and good judgement to make safe decisions can save lives on the highways.”

David Grover
Branch Manger, Pacific Landscape Management

David Grover is a Branch Manager at Pacific Landscape Management, where he leads an extraordinary team and manages all sales and operational activities. David is a graduate of Oregon State University with a degree in Horticulture and Business. He has a passion for service, whether that’s helping a client solve an issue, or challenging a colleague to achieve goals they never thought possible. In his free time, David enjoys an active adventure with family or friends, which likely includes skiing, trail running, or traveling.

Alison Herrell
Arborologist, Rainbow Ecoscience

Alison Herrell is an Arborologist and PNW Territory Manager with Rainbow Ecoscience. She holds a B.A. in Biology from Valparaiso University and an M.S. in Environmental Science from Indiana University. She is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, TRAQ holder, and pesticide applicator in OR and WA with over 13 years of experience including tree climbing, plant healthcare applications, research, education, and sales.

Hayden Hockett
Sales Support Manager, Marion Ag Service, Inc.

Hayden Hockett, a 2013 graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Geology, has spent a decade with Marion Ag Service. There, he has excelled in formulating both conventional and organic solutions to support both ag and T&O markets. Outside of work, Hayden is an outdoor enthusiast, classic Volkswagen fanatic, and enjoys the company of his four-year-old Australian Shepherd, Crosby. 

Hayden Hockett, graduado en 2013 de la Universidad de Oregón con una licenciatura en Estudios Ambientales y especialización en Geología, ha pasado una década en Marion Ag Service. Josh Thomas
Executive Director, Oregon Utility Notification Center

With more than 20 years of experience in the field of public relations and organizational representation, Josh Thomas has held lead communications roles within the Oregon Legislature, municipal government, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Port of Portland and the Oregon Dairy Products Commission. He is currently the Executive Director for the Oregon Utility Notification Center, where he is committed to promoting safe excavation to prevent avoidable accidents and damage to underground utilities.

Josh holds a Masters in Public Administration from Portland State University, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oregon. He has served on state and local boards and committees and held leadership volunteer positions with organizations including the American Association of Port Authorities, Dairy Management Inc., American Cancer Society, Public Relations Society of America, and the Boy Scouts of America.

Annie von Domitz
LCB Administrator, Landscape Contractors Board

Annie von Domitz is the Administrator for the Landscape Contractors Board (LCB) and is excited to be leading an agency that serves an important consumer protection role.  She has worked in state government for almost 20 years. During her time at with the state, Annie has filled many roles including program management, project management, government-to-government relations, public relations, communications, and volunteer management. She enjoys the challenge of working in the public sector and facilitating projects between diverse stakeholders. Prior to joining state government, Annie worked for an association management firm in Salem, managing offices and boards for multiple trade associations. 

Annie has a BA from the University of Oregon, a Certificate in Public Management from Willamette University’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management, and an Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) degree from Portland State University. She currently lives in Salem with her husband, son, a dog, and a cat.

Amy Whitworth
Plan-it Earth Design

Amy Whitworth is Lead Designer and Owner of Plan-it Earth Design in SE Portland.

Since 1998, Amy has been helping her clients craft earth friendly gardens and deepen their connection with the natural world. She has received numerous awards for her educational and habitat gardens, including OLCA’s 2018 award for Best Residential Renovation from 35K-75K

Her background combines horticulture and fine arts. She teaches Naturescaping, and Rain Garden classes for local Soil & Water Conservation Districts, and presents on various sustainable design topics to homeowners, gardeners and professionals alike.

Since 2005 she has been a vocal advocate for the rights of Oregon’s Professional Landscape Designers to practice their trade.

Amy Whitworth es diseñadora principal y propietaria de Plan-it Earth Design en el sureste de Portland.

Desde 1998, Amy ha ayudado a sus clientes a crear jardines respetuosos con el planeta y a profundizar su conexión con el mundo natural. Ha recibido numerosos premios por sus jardines educativos y de hábitat, incluido el premio OLCA 2018 a la Mejor Renovación Residencial de 35K-75K.
