Issues may include downspout runoff, poor draining surfaces, and subsurface issues. I will then talk about what products NDS manufactures to fix those issues. Will also spend time going over drainage system design and important factors to consider when installing a drainage system.

Within that discussion we will go over site selection and whether it is suitable for various wireless communications. Lastly, we will talk through various difficulties, how to troubleshoot them, and what the fix will be to correct them.

Without taking proper precautions, what you don't see can hurt you. This is certainly true when it comes to underground utilities and damage prevention. Led by Josh Thomas, Executive Director of the Oregon Utility Notification Center, this session will include true, real-life stories about circumstances where systems complexity or a lack of preparation, knowledge, or foresight led to undesirable and sometimes catastrophic consequences. Attendees will leave with a better understanding and appreciation for the critical infrastructure beneath our feet in communities across our state and beyond. Thomas promises to share three simple numbers and a link that can help prevent expensive damages, temporary loss of critical utility services, injuries, or worse.

1:00 – 2:00 pm Wise with Water Features Track: Sustainability Presenter: Steve Causseaux Water features continue to be a growing segment of the landscape industry. Demand remains high as people shift backyards from open lawns into outdoor living spaces with pavers, fire features, and yes, water features. In this class, you will learn how to select the proper water feature pump for your job to achieve the look your customers want. We will also discuss some basic how-tos for fountain features, spillways, and the high-demand pond-free features.
1:00 – 2:00 pm LCB Update and Licensing Track: Management Presenter: Annie von Domitz Breakdown of the latest changes and initiatives the Landscape Contractors Board has been dedicating their efforts to. Including rule changes and the addition of outreach positions. Will also be covering the licensing process, strategies, and material to encourage new small businesses and established professionals to become licensed.

2:30 – 3:30 pm Fleet Compliance and Safety Track: Construction Presenter: David Gaffney This course will provide information pertaining to various vehicle inspection requirements, connection of trailers, load securement, drivers license requirements/issues, size and weight requirements, plus much more. Learn from a seasoned commercial enforcement regulator what common violations are discovered and how to avoid them. You will also learn about the difference between a violation and Out Of Service criteria. Get those questions answered in a one-stop-educational class!
